Summer Fair Silent Auction Appeal

SUMMER FAIR SILENT AUCTION APPEAL

Once again, we are planning our Summer Fair featuring the popular Silent Auction. The fair will be held on Saturday, July 23, during Pittsfield 's Old Home Day. We are looking for auction items that will attract a summer crowd.

Perhaps you have an appealing item, a fine craft, sports equipment, or a piece of art that you could donate. Tickets for a special event or entertainment venue are a big draw.

Gift certificates for services have great appeal. How about donating a guided fishing trip on your boat; a llama trek to the top of Mt. Major for a picnic; kayaking for two with an expert guide (you)? Perhaps you could donate your services to plan (or plant) a flower border or your expertise to lay a patio. You get the idea—be creative. Offer your special talent or skill. We can help to write up an attractive gift certificate.

Our auction committee is ready and waiting to add your contribution to the auction table. See Marylee Johnson, Mary Ellen Siudut, or Carole Brown for information or advice.

Blue Jeans Sunday: Outdoor Clean-up

Lots of helpful hands participated in the spring clean-up of the church grounds. Thanks to Daniel Welch for the photos!

A message from Sabra:

Thanks to the weeders, pruners, tree trimmers, bush whackers, planters, and stump haulers for all your hard work on Sunday. We have replanted and refurbished the garden know to the town of Pittsfield as Mount St. Stephen’s. With some additional plantings and TLC, it will look spectacular. Special thanks to Ursula Allen for most of the items we planted including hosta, lupine, heart’s ease (also known as Johnny jump up), and lilac. We also put in bearberry to help with soil retention along the bank. Hope everyone enjoyed the lunch and the homemade lemonade.

Many thanks to Cackleberries of Meredith where we purchased the bearberry. They were great healthy plants. Laurie, the owner, gave us planting tips to ensure that our plants would do well. We appreciate her assistance.
