All Saints & All Souls

A busy Sunday morning at St. Stephen's!

This being the Sunday closest to All Saints' Day, we heard Fr. Curtis's reminder about "Big S Saints" and "small s saints." Be careful to articulate and enunciate your words when saying those phrases, otherwise you might shock people....

During the service, we learned that Chris and George had used the leftover Spanish cedar from our new rooftop cross to create small crosses for all parishioners. Fr. Curtis blessed them.

Everybody was invited to take one for themselves and their family members.

Towards the end of the service, the wonderful aroma a baking rose up to the sanctuary. Under the supervision of Sabra and Daniel and Katie, the Sunday School class baked Shropshire Soul Cakes to commemorate All Souls' Day, November 2nd.

In addition to baking, the class learned about the concept of having a soul.

Enjoying the fruits of their labor:

The book study group stayed afterwards to continue their discussion of Bishop Robinson's book.
